The Union Election Commission (UEC) has officially approved the registration of the Kachin State People's Party (KSPP) as a political entity. In an announcement made on August 19, the UEC confirmed that with this latest registration, the total number of approved political parties has reached 51.
The Kachin State People's Party, headquartered at No. 328 in Yuzana Ward, Myitkyina, near the Seinmya Ayeyar park and adjacent to Union Road, was established in 2024. According to the UEC's statement, the party's registration was granted in accordance with Section 9 of the Political Parties Registration Law as of August 19.
The Kachin State People's Party (KSPP) has been assigned registration number 51, as stated by the UEC.
The Union Election Commission (UEC) has canceled the registration of the Shan State Kokang Democratic Party on November 20, 2023, and the Myo National Party on November 22, 2023. With the dissolution of these two parties, the total number of registered political parties remains at 51, but only 49 are still active.
