Cargo vessels, cruise ships and passenger ships have been instructed not to leave the sea, according to the weather conditions in Myeik archipelago.

The Department of Marine Administration for Tanintharyi Region has instructed vessels not to leave the Myeik archipelago due to severe weather conditions and wind speeds of 40 miles per hour.

The warning was issued on September 5, and according to measurements by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, the wind speed is 40 miles per hour and the conditions in the sea may be rough. Cruise ships and coastal fast passenger ships have been instructed not to leave at all.

"I heard that the passenger ships are instructed not to go. The small fishing boats are not leaving the port during these days. They have not left the sea yet, as they have calculated the time of the moon. Cuttlefish boats will also start working after the weekend, so almost all small fishing boats are currently docked in the port. It is raining a lot these days on the sea and land of Myeik archipelago. There are strong waves in the sea," said a fishing boat owner.

According to the department, the Myeik-Kyunsu-Myeik express boat route is protected from the waves, and the time is only about an hour. All passengers are allowed to ride only inside the boat.
