The six ethnic armed groups that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) announced that they will cooperate with Nippon Foundation Chairman Sasakawa, the Japanese government's special representative for Myanmar's peace and national reconciliation.

For peace and national reconciliation in Myanmar, the Japanese government assigned Sasakawa, Chairman of the Nippon Foundation, as the special representative of the Japanese government to Myanmar. The statement stated that the seven NCA-S EAOs are supporting it and working together to implement these tasks.

The Nippon Foundation, led by Chairman Sasakawa, supported new city projects, school and hospitals for the development of ethnic areas and provided 64,000 bags of rice in the areas of the seven NCA-S EAOs in 2022-2023 FY. It is planned to continue distribution of rice for 2023-2024 FY.

Therefore, the seven NCA-S EAO groups protested the attacks by some people claiming to be activists against Chairman Sasakawa and the Nippon Foundation, which supports the IDPs and refugees in their ethnic areas since the previous governments, it said.

Six ethnic armed groups of the NCA-S EAO have signed and announced that they will fully support and cooperate with the Nippon Foundation and Chairman Sasakawa for the benefit of the ethnic people who are suffering from the conflict.

The six ethnic armed groups that signed the NCA-S EAO are Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), KNU-Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA PC), Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), New Mon State Party (NMSP) and Pao National Liberation Organization (PNLO).
