According to the information released by the Anti-Drug Squad on 9 May, about 198 million kyats’ worth of psychotropic substances labeled as ‘Happy Water’ were seized in Tachilek, eastern Shan State. 

As per the information released at about 7pm on 7 May, acting on a tipoff, the anti-drug squad members along with witnesses stopped and searched a motorcycle driven by Kyaw Thet Soe in accompany with Aung Phyoe, and another motorcycle driven by Tit Shei accompanied by Ma Nan Htwe Lin in Wein Kyauk ward, Tachilek.

Upon searching the motorcycle driven by Tit Shei with Ma Nan Htwe Lin, they found 1.8 kilos of Happy Water substances worth about Ks198 million hidden in the motorbike and four mobile phones.

Those apprehended, namely  Kyaw Thet Soe, Aung Phyoe, Tit Shei and Ma Nan Htwe Lin have been booked under the Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Continued measures are being taken to nab further accomplices connected with the crime, said the Anti-Drug Squad.
