Shootings kill two, injure two in four townships

In Nyaung-U, Palaw, Pakokku and Ye townships, four people, including one administrative official were shot in which two died and two others were wounded, Myanmar Police Force reported.

On April 14 in Auknyint village of Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region,  100-household administrator U Naing Win, aged 47 was shot at home by three men arriving on two motorcycles at about 2.10 pm. They then fled away.

Due to the gunfire U Naing Win sustained injuries and later died. In the vicinity of the incident two 9mm Luger empty shells, two THAI ARMS 380 AUTO empty shells and one S 2010 9mm empty shell were recovered.

Moreover in Kye village of Pala town, Palaw township of Taninthayi  Region,  U Soe Naing, aged 43, was at his house when he was shot by some members of PDF (People’s Defence Force) on April 14. U Soe Naing was wounded and sent to Palaw District People’s Hospital for treatment.

Likewise in Kyetshar village in Pakokku township, Magway Region, U Hla Thein Maw, 57, and Daw Sein Than of the same village were at a funeral house when about five members of the PDF came on three motorcycles at about 10.39 pm on April 14 and opened gunfire on them. They then ran away.

Due to the gunfire U Hla Thein Maw was injured and succumbed to the injury on the spot.

Likewise in Kyoung Laung Ywahaung village, U Kyaw Moe, 48, and his wife Daw Mee Mee, 42, were in their rubber plantation at about 11.30 pm on April 14 when two members of PDF came holding guns and fired at the husband.  Then armed men took one pair of earrings, one gold chain and one gold ring from Daw Mee Mee and ran away. U Kyaw Moe was wounded and sent to Ye township hospital for treatment.
