The deputy director of Mandalay Region High Court and a housemaid were murdered at home, and the house was set on fire at about 4am today, local sources report.  

Receiving the information that the deputy director’s house located on 31st Street between 65th and 66th Streets in Pyigyimyatshin Ward, Chanayethazan Township, Mandalay Region, caught fire, fire brigade members rushed to the scene to put out the fire. A mattress, a bed and a few other things at home were burned down.  

Search and checks led to the information that the house owner serving as deputy director of Region High Court was found dead with a knife piercing the neck and cuts on the face. Moreover, her housemaid was also found dead on the second floor.
