Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) Myanmar was launched together with the Deepavali celebration at the Indian Centre in Yangon at 6pm on November 5.
Present on the occasion were ambassadors of India, Singapore, Nepal and Sri Lanka to Myanmar, the chair of GOPIO Myanmar and guests.
GOPIO is a non-partisan, secular global organization opening its chapters in 28 countries.
GOPIO was founded at the First Global Convention of People of Indian Origin held in New York in 1989.
