Pete Vowles, the head of the British Embassy in Myanmar, wrote on his Twitter page that his duties in Myanmar were suddenly suspended on July 13.
He said that he was saddened by the instructions of State Administration Council to force him to leave Myanmar. But Pete Vowles wrote on his Twitter page that he was glad that "we didn't cave to pressure to legitimize" the military takeover.
In addition, even though he had to leave Myanmar, the members of the team who remained in Myanmar, will continue to stand up and do everything they can for the people of Myanmar who want nothing more than peace, freedom and justice, according to his Twitter page.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not released anything about the matter till 11:30 pm on July 13.
Pete Vowles, the head of the British Embassy in Myanmar, has been in charge of his duties in Myanmar since August 2021.
