Spokesman of State Administration Council (SAC) Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun was cited as saying the decision to carry out the hangings was confirmed after the legal appeals by the four were rejected.

Concerning the news of four people who were sentenced to death, he said that the execution will go ahead in accordance with prison procedures.

Other two men who were sentenced to death were Hla Myo Aung aka Wat Gyi and Aung Thura Zaw aka Gatone aka Thura. They were convicted of killing a woman from east Hlaing Tharyar Township; they believed was an informer for the military.

A statement concerning death sentence given to Phyo Zeya Thaw and Kyaw Min Yu aka Jimmy was issued.  He was given sentence to death on January 21. It is not important that the death sentence was given or not. What important is to carry out the death sentence. They continued the legal process of appealing and sending a request letter for the amendment of the sentence. But the court rejected their appeal and request. There is no other step after that, he continued.

Phyo Zeya Thaw aka Maung Kyaw was arrested at Yadanar Hninsi Housing, Yadar Road, Dagon Seikkan Township on November 18 with arms and ammunitions. He was arrested together with two pistols, 48 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one M16 gun, 74 rounds of 5.56 ammunition. 

Kyaw Min Yu aka Ko Jimmy was arrested at No-109, Pinglon Housing, 27 ward, North Dagon Myothit Township with 6 AK-47s, 18 M-16s and 2-12 bolt guns, one homemade gun and 18 magazines. He was given sentence under Section 49 (a) of Counter-Terrorism law, assisting terrorists, Unlawful association act, Arms act and explosive substances act.
