Some people close to the NLD party, including some of the NLD members, were killed in Mandalay with gunshot and knife wounds on April 24 and 25.

A couple of the owner of Sein Win Win Tea Shop located on 34th Street, 84th and 85th Streets in Mandalay, and brother of the teashop owner, were shot and stabbed to death wearing around on their necks with a card showing "Thway Thauk Group Red Operation" logo. A body of an unidentified man was also found with the same logo wearing around on his neck with gunshot and knife wounds on his body.

U Khin Maung Thein, the owner of Sein Win Win Tea Shop, was found lying in front of the NLD party township office at 34th Street, east of Mandalay East Ring Road with a gun wound at the back of his head and a knife wound. His hands were tied and eyes were covered with a piece of longyi with a card showing "Thway Thauk Group Red Operation" logo hanging around his neck. His wife, Daw Kha, also suffered stab wounds to the neck and head and a bullet wound to the forehead. She was also found with the same logo wearing around on her neck. The brother of U Khin Maung Thein, also sustained gunshot wounds to the left side of his neck and a puncture wound to his right back wearing the same logo on his neck. Then, a body of a man was found with gunshot and knife wounds between Hnin Si Housing and Sapae Housing on Kannar Road, Min Tae E King Ward, Aungmyethazan Township on the night of April 24.

The deceases are NLD party members and those close to the party. The wife of the owner of Sein Win Win Tea Shop is still receiving medical treatment for serious injuries. Three men were died from gunshot and stab wounds. On April 18, the wife of the vice chairman of the NLD party in Mandalay District was arrested and killed.

An announcement has been made on a social media site from a group named “Thway Thauk Group Red Operation (Mdy)” that NLD members and NLD extremist groups and family members linked to PDF groups will be wiped out after a group called “The Black Death” has announced on its social media site that it will hunt down government employees in Mandalay and in the region, members of the security forces and their families under the name of “Operation Zeya”.
