State Administration Council spokesperson and Deputy Information Minister Major General Zaw Min Tun has dismissed the news about the personal staff officer and the driver of the deputy commander of North-West Command joining the civil disobedience movement (CDM) as ‘fabrication’.

“Destructive media outlets are releasing false news about the PSO and the driver of the deputy commander of North-West Command having joined the CDM. I am saying so because we received media questions. This news is not true. They are shouldering their own duties,” said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

He said only a case had recently occurred in which a private from the communications corps in that military command went absent without leave.

Moreover, the military denied the news that North-West Command commander Brigadier General Phyo Thant was under house arrest. News photos were released on October 8 featuring the movements of the commander while performing his duties.
