The French Embassy in Myanmar issued a statement on September 21 showing its support to the work of the UN and ASEAN special envoys to get an inclusive and peaceful solution to the Myanmar crisis.

The statement says each year the international day of peace is observed around the world on September 21. It is dedicated to world peace and specifically the absence of war, such as might be occasioned by a ceasefire and non-violence.

In Myanmar, this is the occasion for France to reaffirm its attachment to an inclusive and peaceful solution to the Myanmar crisis as well as its support to the work of the UN and ASEAN special envoys.

The quick implementation of the 5 points consensus agreed at the Jakarta summit is aimed at putting an end to violence born of the 1st February military coup, in the interests of the people of Myanmar, the statement reads.

The embassy also released a statement on the International Day of Democracy on September 15.
