Public Holidays’ extended by additional week to further contain Covid-19 Infections

The State Administrative Council announces an extension of ‘public holidays’ to contain Covid-19 infections. This extension is in place from August 2nd to August 8th.The Central Bank of Myanmar, public banks, and private banks have not been included in the ‘public holidays.’

These public health measures to control Covid-19 have been set up since July 17 as Myanmar struggles to deal with surge in Covid-19 infections. Myanmar recorded 4,725 new infections and 392 new deaths on Saturday with the positivity rate standing at 34.24 %.
