Explosions occurred at the general administration office on Bagayar Road, Sanchaung Township, Yangon, on the afternoon of May 21, and some injuries were reported.
There were two explosions with the second about 15 minutes after the first. The area from Sanchaung fire station to Bagayar traffic lights have reportedly been blocked by security forces.
“There were two blasts. The second explosion came about 15 minutes after the first. An explosion already occurred in front of that office last month. Now, some were hurt. We also heard sound of gunfire. I don’t know exactly. There are many police vans going around,” said a local resident.
After the explosions, security forces started checks on cars running along Bagayar Road, Kyuntaw Road and Baho Road in the township.
“Our car has been checked. All the people onboard the car had to get off. We were asked where we came from. They checked inside the car,” said a motorist on Kyuntaw Road.
Moreover, heavily-armed police are going round in open-roofed double-cabs in Sanchaung Township.
Investigation is still going on about any death or number of the wounded.
Police vans are seen blocking the road near the fire station. But the situation at the administration office is still unclear.
