Myanmar has seen 477 more Covid-19 cases and 18 more deaths, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported on the night of January 18.
A total of 18,835 swabs were tested from January 17 at 8:00 pm to January 18 at 8:00 pm, and 477 new cases were confirmed.
A total of 537 Covid-19 patients were also discharged from hospital on the same day, bringing the total number of people who recovered from the illness to 118,200.
Of the 18 deaths, 15 had pre-existing chronic medical conditions. And there have so far been 2,973 deaths from Covid-19, the ministry reported.
Till January 18, there were 2,151,828 samples tested, 134,795 confirmed cases, 118,200 recoveries and 2,973 deaths, the ministry announced.
For January 18 also, 172 of those in close contact with the Covid-19 patients in Yangon Region tested negative for the coronavirus but they have been put in home quarantine, the ministry said.
