Myanmar has seen 449 more Covid-19 cases and 13 more deaths, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported on the night of January 17.
A total of 17,656 swabs were tested from January 16 at 8:00 pm to January 17 at 8:00 pm, and 449 new cases were confirmed.
A total of 582 Covid-19 patients were also discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of people who recovered from the illness to 117,663.
Among the 13 deaths, 12 had pre-existing chronic medical conditions. And there have so far been 2,955 deaths from Covid-19, the ministry reported.
Till January 17, there were 2,132,993 samples tested, 134,318 confirmed cases, 117,663 recoveries and 2,955 deaths, the ministry announced.
For January 17 also, 278 of those in close contact with the Covid-19 patients in Yangon Region tested negative for the coronavirus but they have been put in home quarantine, the ministry said.
