More COVID deaths in Mon State

In two days on 8th and 9th of December, there have been three COVID-19 positive deaths, and the total number of deaths in Mon State has reached 17, as disclosed by the State Public Health Department. 

"Of the three positive patients that had died, one was a member of Htun Myat Sedana Social Welfare Association. He was hospitalized, He died on 8th morning. When tested he was found to be positive. We were deeply sorry for him. Another person is a man from Leikinn ward, Thahton. He died in Mawlamyine hospital where he was taking treatment. He died at 11pm of 8th December", said deputy president of Mawlamyine Emergency Social Assistance Web, Ko Zin Moe.    

He further said that another patient was from Pabedan Ward, Mawlamyine. He was taking treatment in PUI as a suspected patient. He was listed as a Positive patient by the State Public Health Department in the evening. He died at about 5 am on 9th December.

As regards the death of Positive patients, earlier there were more deaths of patients with underlying diseases of cancer, skin disease, and gouty arthritis.  Later there were deaths of patients with diabetics and kidney disease as underlying disease. Those that have underlying diseases should be very  careful not to get infected with coronavirus, said Dr Wut Hmon, deputy State Director of State Public Health Department.    

She said that before there was possibility of death of  COVID-19 Positive patients with underlying diseases. Later and now those with diabetes were dying. It is important, she urged that health to be maintained and ensure there is no contagion of virus,    

Since 8 April, when the first COVID-19 positive patient was found in Mon State,  there have been 1868 positive patients from Mon State included and other States and Regions. 1525 had recovered and had been discharged  from hospitals.
