As the number of people in the facility quarantine centre, opened in the 700-year football field in Sagaing, has increased, another center has been set up in Sagaing University for people who have had contact with covid infected people.    

In the center in Paramiyat area in Sagaing, people returning from Yangon and those that have had contact with COVID-19 infected patients are kept. They total 35 altogether. On 4 Nov. 10 persons were found to have been infected with coronavirus and 36 persons who have had contact with them. These were sent to the facility quarantine centre at the Sagaing University, according to Dr Thawdar Htet from Sagaing District Public Health Department.     

He further said that in the 700-year football field quarantine centre there are people who have come back from Yangon, and those that have had contact with virus infected people. The other day 10 people were detected with the virus and  so their family members and those in home quarantine were brought to the Facility Quarantine Centre. As there are sections in Sagaing University  these people are kept in the Facility Quarantine Centre there.    

There have been 27 COVID-19 patients taking treatment in the 200-bedded Sagaing Public Hospital. Of these 27 patients 16 had recovered and had been discharged from hospital.
