School lessons to be broadcast through TV channels

Plans are underway to broadcast the school curriculum of primary. Middle and high schools through free to air TV channels such as MRTV, Myanmar Education Channel, MRTV 4, Sky Net, MNTV and Myawaddy TV according to deputy director-general of Department for Basic Education Dr. Tin Maung Win.

Coordination is being made with SKY Net for making TV lessons. For school curriculums he is discussing with professors and department heads in Yangon University, he continued.

At present, lessons previously drawn are broadcast from MRTV and Myanmar Education Channel.

“We are planning to broadcast from TV channels earliest, maybe in mid of October. But, as you know, we have to coordinate this matter and after that we have to submit it to the Ministry of Education. We can continue only if there is permission,” said Dr. Tin Maung Win.

In the places where there is inaccessible electricity and TV, lessons will be brought through radios.
