Over 90 people living in connected rooms, and those living around the place where COVID-19 case No.595 lived have had their movements restricted, said the concerned ward administrative officer.
In the announcement made by the Health and Sports Ministry at 8pm on 27 Aug., case No.595 in the list of those found with COVID virus, is a woman aged 40, one who has no record of travel abroad, one who has had no contact with anyone affected by the virus, and one who has not been to Rakhine State.
The small lane connecting Pawsannmhwe Lanes 5 and 6 where the said woman lives was placed under restriction of movement on 27 Aug. evening.
It is not known from where the woman got affected; she was under observation while she was in Sanpya Hospital, said Thingangyun Township, Regional MP Nay Phone Lat.
She was found affected by the virus when she wen1pt to Sanpya Hospital on her own when she took ill. She has no record of any travel. We don't know from where she got affected, said Nay Phone Lat.
At 11pm on 27 Aug. Nay Phone Lat said that at the moment the ward administrative officer will take in the morning the names of all those who have had close contact with the woman and send them to quarantine centres.
The room where the woman lives is a two-storey building of eight connected rooms, and there are altogether 90 people living in these rooms.
The woman in question is a launderer who washes clothes in the ward, and is not one who has not travelled anywhere inland, as said by one responsible from the ward administrative office.
At the moment the health of people living in the said land is being monitored, and their movement restricted.
Of the patients found on 27 Aug.in Yangon Region there is an airline staff from South Dagon.
After the outbreak of COVID-19 in Rakhine State on 16 Aug., the virus had been detected in people who have travelled to Sittwe.
That is why the entire Rakhine State has been placed under STAY AT HOME order, and those who fail to follow the order will be prosecuted as per Natural Disaster Law.
