As the number of confirmed patients affected by COVID-19 virus is increasing, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Cure have announced that in order to control the spread of the disease, it has necessitated for the entire Rakhine State to be under STAY AT HOME programme, and that those wishing to travel out of the State should get the necessary permission.

The Ministry of Health and Sports has issued an order stating that as the number of confirmed cases has increased within a short period, in order to prevent more effectively the spread of the disease all the people in all townships should stay at home.

The Central Committee for the Prevention, Control and Cure stated on 26 Aug that the government will fully give healthcare food provisions  and do all the needful for the prevention and control of the disease in Rakhine State.

The committee further requested the people to just stay at home and travel within or outside of the State without necessity.

The National Level  Central Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Cure has further announced that should the need arise for people living in Rakhine State to travel to other Regions and States for emergency medical purposes, they should get the necessary permission from the department or organization concerned. When they get to their destination they should cooperate with the departments and organizations concerned and undergo medical tests, and stay in Community Based Facility Quarantine for 21 days. They should follow the orders and directives concerning the prevention, control and cure of COVID-19.

The National Level Central Committee for COVID-19 Prevention,Control and Cure stated that those who fail to follow these orders and directives will be prosecuted under the Natural Disaster Planning Law.

The people of Rakhine State, with the exception of staff from government departments, factories, and industries, should stay in their houses during the STAY AT HOME period. Should the need arise only one from each household should go to market. To go to hospitals or clinics, only two from the household should go. When going outdoors, masks should be worn. Only vehicles that have permit to ferry people going on duty are allowed to go out of their ward. For those shopping within their ward, one person from the house and the driver of the vehicle will be allowed. For those going to hospitals and clinics, the driver of the vehicle, the patient and one other person from the house are allowed to go out, as per the disciplinary measures issued by the Health and Sports Ministry.
