A six-year-old child returning from India has tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 318 in Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am on July 9.
The National Health Laboratory (Yangon) tested 285 samples in the second batch for July 8, and one new case was confirmed.
For the whole day (July 8), 1,688 samples were tested – 940 in the first and second batches by NHL (Yangon), 184 by the Department of Medical Research, 216 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mandalay), and 188 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine) and 160 by Defence Services Hospital (1,000-bed). One new Covid-19 case was also found in the first batch.
Myanmar has so far seen 318 Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 250 recoveries.
