There have been over 1,000 returnees from overseas in facility quarantine in Nay Pyi Taw, and over 50 of them were allowed to go home for the first time on April 8 as they were in good health.
Since March 26, over 1,000 returnees from overseas have come to Nay Pyi Taw Council area. Under the arrangement of the council, they were being watched for 14 days at hospitals in Dakhina, Pobbathiri and Zeyathiri townships.
As of April 8, 20 people from Dakhina hospital, 27 from Pobbathiri hospital and 10 from Zeyathiri hospital were allowed to return to their homes, said Dr Myat Wunna Soe, deputy director general of the Public Health Department.
“The Nay Pyi Taw Council area has over 1,000 returnees from overseas. Of them, 20 people from Dakhina hospital, 27 from Pobbathiri hospital and 10 from Zeyathiri hospital were allowed to return home after 14-day quarantine. We are glad that we have achieved success for the first time in Nay Pyi Taw,” he said.
Those allowed to go home were also presented with certificates proving good health issued by township administrators, heads of township public health departments and Nay Pyi Taw Public Health Department.
