There were more than 500 people who were in quarantine at public hospitals and other facilities from January 31 to March 25, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

From January 31 to March 25, Myanmar had 275 persons under investigation and two under suspension of the coronavirus. There were 212 who tested negative, 61 waiting for results, and 134 discharged. In the period, 13 people died of other diseases although they tested negative.

Over 50 well-wishers donated medicine, medical equipment and cash worth over K800 million for COVID-19 preventive, control and treatment measures for the Ministry of Health and Sports and public hospitals in Yangon Region.

The ministry has called on public members and social organizations to avoid large gatherings and not to hold non-essential festivities and ceremonies. It is also issuing warnings that elder people are to take great care of their health and that people are to wash their hands frequently and keep hand sanitizers or soap at festivities.
