The coronavirus monitoring period for 59 students and three health staff members returning from China at Kandaw Nadi Hospital in Mandalay will be completed at 12 pm on February 15, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports
Currently, their health conditions are said to be good.
Authorities prepared a quarantine of the students who would be returning from the Chinese city of Wuhan from where the novel coronavirus originated at Kandaw Nadi Hospital. They would be watched for two weeks there and kept away from outside people. Moreover, Mandalay People’s Hospital prepared an isolated room for treatment in case they are infected with the virus.
According to the statement released by the World Health Organization on the morning of February 10, no new countries found novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) cases over the past 24 hours. There are only over 20 countries that have imposed travel registrations as suggested by WHO which continues its technological aid and cooperation with the countries with the pandemic supply chain network.
The figures available on early February 10 from WHO, the whole world had 40,553 confirmed cases of the virus including 26 in Hong Kong, 10 in Macao and 17 in Taiwan. Apart from China, 24 other countries had 307 confirmed cases. Affected countries in ASEAN region are Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.
