Chinese authorities said foreigners including Myanmar students in Wuhan are facing difficulty leaving the city, and the Myanmar embassy issued a press release on January 27 urging Myanmar citizens living in China not to be overly concerned.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a press conference on the spread of coronavirus that is breaking out in Wuhan of Hubei province and other regions.

Ministry officials said the foreigners in Wuhan should leave after following the instructions issued by health organizations including World Health Organization and other regional bodies. Their plan to leave home through other provinces will be very difficult as the ministry didn't expect to make such arrangements for them, the Myanmar embassy quoted the press conference as saying.

According to the press conference, some news that other countries had already fetched their citizens by special flight is not correct. Ministry officials said the situation had not reached that level.

There are emergency centers as well as canteens and food sharing at universities and schools where students are trapped.

The Myanmar embassy said it was coordinating with Chinese authorities to take out 60 trapped Myanmar students.

Those students will be allowed to leave 14 days after their medical checkups, authorities concerned have instructed.

Second Secretary Soe Pyae Win from the Myanmar embassy said: "We are coordinating with Chinese authorities for the evacuation of Myanmar students after medical checkups.
