Four more airlines suspend flight schedules between China-Mandalay

In order to contain the spread of deadly novel coronavirus in Wuhan of China, four additional airlines have suspended their flight operations between China and Mandalay, according to a statement by Tada-U Airport in Mandalay.

This comes after the suspension of Mandalay-Wuhan flight schedule on 24 January.

Till February, China Eastern Airlines, MAI airlines, Xiamen Airline, 9 Air Airline and Qingdo Airline will suspend their flight schedules between Chinese cities and Mandalay.

An officer of the OCC Department in Mandalay International Airport said: “According to today’s list, there are five airlines. The suspension aims to contain the spread of virus. But some airlines did not give any reason. The suspension will remain in place until further information. The number of incoming passengers has declined due to the suspension.”

According to the statement, Wuhan-Mandalay-Wuhan schedule is suspended till 28 February, Xiamen-Mandalay-Xiamen schedule, till 3 February, flight schedules by the MAI until the release of further information from 1 February, flight schedules by Qingdo from February 5 to 28, flight schedules by 9 Air till February 16 and 19.

There are ten flight schedules between China and Mandalay. Apart from the flight schedules suspended on 27 January, the remaining flight schedules are in operation normally.
