From January to November 23 this year, 123 out of 23,203 dengue-infected patients across Myanmar were reported dead, with Kachin State topping the list with over 4,000 infected people, according to the figures released by the Ministry of Health and Sports on December 14.

The largest outbreaks of dengue haemorrhagic fever are seen in Kachin State, Yangon Region, Ayeyawady Region, Mandalay Region and Sagaing Region .

The rates in that state has increased more than in Yangon and Ayeyawady. Kachin State has seen 30 deaths. We are now monitoring tasks there," said  an official from the Public Health Department.

The DHF transmission rates in Yangon Region are rampant in Hlinethaya, Shwepyitha, Insein, Mingaladon, South Dagon, East Dagon, Thanlyin, Hlegu, Thakata and Dagon Seikkan Townships.
