A 200-meter long jetty is built at the International Bulk Terminal Thilawa (IBTT) to dock 60,000 DWT ships, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

The IBTT was put into operation last September.

The IBTT can handle loading and unloading of cargo within a five-day time and it has 42 acres of land space to provide more services.

The IBTT is a joint venture between Lluvia Limited, a subsidiary company of Capital Diamond Star Group-CDSG and Kamigumi Co Ltd, Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN) and developed on 20 acres of land space.

“The IBTT had developed a multipurpose international bulk terminal and it is providing services with international standards. It will be a milestone for Japan and Myanmar friendship. The ministry and Myanma Port Authority will help in line with rules and regulations to facilitate the handling of farm products including wheat and crops at the IBTT,” said Kyaw Myo Deputy Minister for Transportation and Communications.

The IBTT was built with investment worth US$65.44 million and it has a 230-meter jetty, 13 silos which can store 6,600 metric tons of wheat and crops and a warehouse which has 5,400 square meters floor area.

Up to eight jetties are built at Yangon port within three-year time and at the present, 41 jetties are put into operation.
