
Myanmar club Yangon United beat host Philippines club Ceres Negros in the first preliminary round of Asia Champions League tournament 2019 on February 5 and advanced into the second preliminary round of the tournament.
The match was held at Panaad Park stadium in Bacolod. Goalkeeper Kyaw Zin Htet and left back Min Kyaw Khant, who are suspended in MNL matches, are included in the squad. The away team made no mistake and midfielder Miller scored his first goal in 29th minutes. Although the home team tried to equalize, they cannot beat Kyaw Zin Htet. Stephan from the host equalized in 44th minutes. Yangon United made changes in second half and substitute Kaung Htet Soe scored the winning goal in 59th minutes. The two teams met at the semifinal of ASEAN zone in 2018 AFC Cup and Yangon Untied took revenge this time.
Yangon United FC will play against host Chiangrai United FC from Thailand in the second preliminary round of the tournament on February 12. In other match, Persija Jakarta FC from Indonesia thrashed host Home United from Singapore 3-1 and reached to the second preliminary round. They will meet Newcastle Jets FC from Australia.
