Yangon Region government has nothing to do with the opening of Dé Béau Wellness Center involving a beauty spa at the historic Secretariat building, said Region Minister for Kayin Ethnic Affairs Naw Pan Thinzar Myo at a press conference held by Yangon Region Investment Committee (YRIC) on October 30.
"We can say the government has to nothing to do with it. I don't mean we are not taking responsibility. The investment committee issued a license. If a company violates the rules and disciplines, action will be taken against it in accord with the law. After the license has been received, a company has to submit a full quarterly report. They have to propose how much salary will be paid to their workers. If they fail to so, we will take action. Currently, I don't assume that a spa opened by the company (Dé Béau) at the Secretariat has been registered at the YRIC.
As the opening of Dé Béau Wellness Center is allowed through Anawmar Company, the agreement signed between the previous government and the company must be reviewed, she commented.
Yangon City Development Committee has sent a complaint against the unlicensed Dé Béau Wellness Center that provides message spa and business talks.
Yangon Region MP Kyaw Zeya for Dagon Township Constituency said they would oppose the operating of Dé Béau Wellness Center involving a spa by having contacts among parliamentary committees.
Dé Béau Wellness Center was opened at the historic Secretariat on October 26.
