Authorities are taking monitoring measures at Yangon International Airport to prevent Wuhan pneumonia-suspected patients from entering Myanmar. 

Theses day, an unknown pneumonia virus has developed in Wuhan Province of China infecting over 40 people and killing many. 

Therefore, fever screening tasks are being carried out at the airport to prevent suspected patients from coming to Myanmar. 

At both the arrival and departure sections, health staff members are carrying out fever screening tasks. We have erected warning signs and we are doing precautionary tasks. China Eastern Airlines operates a flight between Wuhan and Yangon once a week as usual," said an airport official. 

Meanwhile, Authorities are speeding up monitoring measures at TadaU International Airport in Mandalay Region, for prevention of influenza-like illness- ILI and severe acute respiratory infection-SARI. The Public Health Department has announced its precautionary measures to prevent those illnesses. 

Yangon has connected flights with 13 Chinese airlines. The flights operate between Yangon International Airport and 18 cities in China. China is asking for the operation of more flights, according to the Civil Aviation Department. 

In the period between January and October last year, Hainan Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Spring Airlines, Kunming Airlines, Ruili Airlines, and Qingdao Airlines launched flights between Chinese cities and Yangon Airport.
