The arrival of monsoon season in middle areas of Myanmar is late due to weak monsoon wind, said Dr Kyaw Moe Oo, Director General of Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

“A whirl wind is formed over Bay of Bengal but it is not strong. No depression area may be occurred. We still have to monitor it. The monsoon wind brought rain but it is still weak to enter in the middle areas of Myanmar. The monsoon wind may enter in those areas in next five or six days as we found it will be intensified a little,” he said.

According to the observation made by the DMH for June 4, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State and rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Nay Pyi Taw, scattered in lower Sagaing and Magway and Mandalay regions, Southern Shan and Chin states, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Kachin, Eastern Shan and Rakhine states, widespread in the remaining regions and states with isolated heavy falls in Magway Region.
