Preliminary reports from political parties indicate that the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) has won the vote in all 12 townships of Yangon Region included in Phase One of the 2025 General Election.

The USDP is reported to have secured victories in all first-past-the-post (FPTP) constituencies for both the Pyithu Hluttaw and the Yangon Region Hluttaw in these townships. However, results for the Amyotha Hluttaw FPTP seats and proportional representation (PR) seats have not yet been finalized, as their constituencies also include townships from Phases Two and Three of the election.

A Yangon Region USDP official said the party has won all 12 townships under the FPTP system, while PR results will only be known after all three election phases are completed.

Under the PR system, seats are allocated based on the total votes received by each party across large multi-township constituencies, meaning final seat distribution remains unclear at this stage.

The 12 townships where voting was held in Phase One in Yangon Region are Kamayut, Kyauktada, Taikkyi, Twantay, Dagon Myothit (South), Botahtaung, Mayangon, Mingaladon, Hmawbi, Thingangyun, Thanlyin, and Ahlon.

Phase One of the 2025 General Election was held on December 28 in 102 townships. Phase Two will take place on January 11, 2026, in 100 townships, followed by Phase Three on January 25, 2026, in 63 townships. In total, elections will be held in 265 townships nationwide, while 65 townships will not conduct voting.
