A meet-the-people event with parliamentary candidates who will contest the election under the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) was held at 9:00 a.m. on December 24 at the Pyin Oo Lwin District Sports Ground in Pyin Oo Lwin City.
The event brought together USDP parliamentary candidates who will run in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region, along with party members, supporters, and local residents.
USDP Central Vice Chairman U Hla Htun attended the ceremony and delivered remarks, urging all citizens to cast their votes in the election. He also spoke about the party’s policy guidelines and the current political situation.
The candidates representing Pyin Oo Lwin Township are: U Mya Tun Oo as a candidate for the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House), U Hein Min Oo as a candidate for the Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House), U Win Zaw as a candidate for the Regional Hluttaw, and U Sai Aung Kyi as a candidate for the Shan Ethnic Affairs Hluttaw.
U Mya Tun Oo, who will contest the election as a Pyithu Hluttaw candidate, stated that he had served in the Tatmadaw up to the rank of General, holding various posts across different regions. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister and as Union Minister for the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Transport and Communications during the tenure of the State Administration Council. He explained that he decided to run in the election in order to continue serving the interests of the nation and the people.
