USDP complains against sub-election commission chairman in Zayarthiri

NAYPYITAW---- The Union Solidarity and Development Party (UDSP) sent a complaint letter to the Union Election sub-commission in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on November 1st calling for scrutinizing to the chairman of election sub-commission from Zayarthiri Township in accordance with the electoral law and by-laws.

A letter reported that Maung Maung, chairman of election sub-commission in Zayarthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory , was a supporter of the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD).

He also participated in the NLD’s campaigns representing the Upper House MP Maung Maung Swe.

The USDP claim they have documented photos concerning the chairman of election sub-commission from Zayarthiri Township.

A letter also said that the rival parties which will be contesting in the upcoming general election representing the Zayarthiri Township had no trust in the Zayarthiri Township election sub-commission’s chairman.

Thus the USDP sent a complaint letter to the Zabuthiri Township election sub-commission aiming to scrutinize and supervise the election sub-commission chairman from Zayarthiri Township. The USDP also informed the election sub-commission office in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area against him.

Maung Maung, chairman of election sub-commission from Zayarthiri Township said that he had shown support for NLD canvassing campaigns for general election-2015.

But, he didn’t take responsibility for duties of the election sub-commission office in Zayarthiri Township then.

Later, he was assigned as the chairman of the election sub-commission from Zayarthiri Township in November of 2018. Since the beginning of November in 2018, he hasn't supported and communicated with any political parties.

However, the election sub-commission office had to accompany canvassing campaigns of political parties aiming to take the documentary photos.

Secretary Aung Soe Win, election sub-commission from Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, said that he didn’t know about the USDP’s complaint against the Zayarthiri Township election sub-commission chairman.
