Two prisoners released from Buthidaung Prison found infected with COVID-19

Two prisoners released from Buthidaung Prison on August 14 are found infected with COVID-19 virus but the Correction Department denied the news about they had been infected with the virus in the prison as they tested positive on September 6, announced the department on September 7.

The announcement is released after a news agency in social media reported that the two prisoners released from the Buthidaung Prison are found infected with the virus.

It said they showed no symptoms of virus after they were released from the prison and no infection is occurred in the prison also.

They travelled to Yay Chan Pyin from Angu Maw after released from the prison. They went to Sittwe after that and stayed at a guesthouse. Then they went to Taunggut and visited a beer station. They visited Lamu taking a bus, it said.
