Two-lane Concrete Bridge to be built in Naga

MONYWA- Nantsalain Suspension Bridge on Byuhar Road connecting Lahe and Khamti Townships in Naga Self-Administered Zone in Sagaing Region will be replaced with two-lane concrete Bridge, says MP U Kae from Lahe Constituency.

The Nantsalain Suspension Bridge is under management of Sagaing Region Government Committee.

“Pre-engineering works has been started. The Suspension isn’t long-term durability. Moreover, 13-ton of vehicles can’t pass on the bridge. It is connecting Lahe and Khamti Townships in Naga Self-administered Zone. Lahe and Nanyon Townships also use the Nantsalain Suspension Bridge which is situated on the Byuhar road. Upon completion of the new bridge, various kinds of vehicles can pass on the bridge,” said U Kae.

The Nansalain Suspension Bridge was opened on January 16th of 2009.It is 250-ft long and Steel Suspension Bridge type. About 50 vehicles  pass daily on the bridge and it can withstand 13-ton of loads.

The two-lane concrete bridge will be funded by the Sagaing Region Government Committee and it will be 350-ft long.
