The tropical depression over South China Sea may intensify, and there may be isolated rain and thundershowers in places in Taninthayi, Kayin and Mon due to partly cloudy to cloudy over Andaman Sea, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) released on October 14.
According to the observations, the tropical depression over South China Sea centered at about 230 nautical miles Southeast of Da Nang, Vietnam. It is move to west-northwestwards and likely to intensify into a tropical storm and will cross the coast of middle Vietnam, in the morning of October 15 and is likely to weaken into a land depression.
Weather is a few clouds over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan, Kayin, Mon states, scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady regions and Kayah State and isolated in the remaining regions and states with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin and Mon states. Degree of certainty is 100 per cent.
Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about 3 to 6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in lower Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Kayah states. Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin and Southern Shan states, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, Kayin State and isolated in the remaining regions and states.
The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.30 inches in Hlaingbwe (Shwegwin), 1.10 inches in Yangon (Mingaladon), 0.99 inch in Nay Pyi Taw (Zeyarthiri), 0.83 inch each in Heho and Nyaung Shwe, 0.79 inch in Kawkareik, (0.67) inch in Hpa-an and 0.63 inch in Thazi (Hlaingtat).
In the next two days, according to the weather forecast, there may be more rain in the lower parts of Myanmar.
There may be the increase of rain in lower Myanmar areas, according to the DMH.
