A training light combat aircraft crashed in Kayah State due to mechanical failure, and contact could be made with the pilot and co-pilot, said Major General Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC).

The spokesperson disclosed the information during his clarification of the ongoing clashes in the country including northern Shan State on November 11.

"This evening, a training light combat aircraft crashed in Kayah State due to mechanical failure. But, we could have been in contact with the pilot and co-pilot," he said.

He also said that the armed groups attacked Loikaw town on the night of November 10 from three locations, but they retreated on the evening of November 11 due to a counter-attack by the military.

"Today, as the local battalions and military columns in Loikaw carried out a counter attack, they retreated this evening. In Sagaing Region, the battle in Htigyaik has been going on since yesterday. We got the information that among the armed groups were the KIA, PDF and AA. We carried out an air attack there as a reinforcement. We have learnt that the enemy has lost many lives. The battle is still going on," the major general said.

The MNDAA groups managed to reach near the town of Pasinkyaw in Shan State (North), but they retreated today (November 11) due to the attack by the military and local militias, he added.

"The Myanmar military is taking measures for the perpetuation of national sovereignty and regional stability. As long as the world exists, we are trying for the existence of Myanmar. We are able to do this. In some places, the situation has returned to normal. In Hsenwi, which TNLA entered, we are making efforts to restore security. Then on the Mandalay-Muse road from Mandalay to Namkhio, we are still working to open the road to Hsenwi. We will continue to try," Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said.

He then urged the public not to believe rumors, false and fabricated news, and to cooperate with the security forces.
