A traffic accident involving a farm truck (Htawlagi) and a vehicle occurred near Mawkanin Apyin village, on Yay-Thanbyuzayat in Yay Township on December 8 injuring two women according to social organizations.

The case was that a farm truck heading to Thanbyuzayat carrying farm machinery and a Toyota Succeed heading to Yay had an accident.

“The two women on the Toyota Succeed vehicle were injured and sent to Lamine Hospital. The driver of the farm truck was slightly injured,” said a man from the social organization.

Traffic accidents have frequently occurred on Kwankyaik Bridge and drivers need to pay special attention, the man said. On November 29, a traffic accident between a six-wheeled vehicle and a motorcycle took place at the bridge. The motorcycle driver was killed and the six-wheeled vehicle was over-turned.

Similarly, a car accident also broke out on the bridge on September 13 where  the driver of a 12-wheeled vehicle was killed.
