According to a statement from the Thai Royal Army, 32 Indonesian nationals who crossed the Thaungyin River (Moei River) from Myanmar's Myawaddy side into Thailand's Mae Sot early on the morning of January 19 were apprehended by Thai military forces.

The group consisted of 30 men and two women, who had been working in Myanmar's Myawaddy area. It was reported that they decided to leave their jobs and, after consulting among themselves, crossed the river illegally into Mae Sot.

As part of ongoing efforts by security forces and the immigration police in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, to prevent illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and other cross-border crimes, a suspicious group of people was spotted at 12:15 a.m. on January 19 in Tak Sai Lot, Zone 7, Mae Sot District. Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the group consisted of Indonesian nationals who had crossed from Myanmar into Thailand.

The 32 Indonesians were subsequently transferred to Mae Sot Police Station by security personnel, where legal actions will be taken in accordance with the law.
