Temperature in Kalewa decreases for two months consecutively

Kalewa – Temperature in Kalewa, Sagaing Region has decreased consecutively for two months with 6.6°C in January and 7.4°C in February respectively, sources said.

“It broke the record of February and it is the lowest temperature in February within 55-year time. The lowest temperature is 6.6°C in the winter. Temperatures in Minkin are 2.4°C and 2.8°C but the forecast is not announced. Minkin is colder than Kalewa. Kalewa is colder than Kalay,” said U Swe, supervisor of meteorology and hydrology station in Kalewa.

Kalewa is located at the joint of upper Chindwin area, Chindwin River and Myittar River and locals said they felt colder in recent years.

“Fog was seen in the morning and temperature has decreased more this year,” said a local.
