Tatmadaw (Army) has prepared 17 hospitals in 17 areas including 14 regions and states for COVID-19 patients, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team at a press conference in Nay Pyi Taw on 22 March.
In addition, Tatmadaw has distributed 58 kinds of medicines to above 300-bedded hospitals in relevant regional military headquarters, for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Tatmadaw has prepared four special treatment hospitals in case of COVID-19 emergencies.
Tatmadaw will also coordinate with the Ministry of Health and Sports on the treatment of patients.
As a part of military-civilian health cooperation program, training and coordination will be carried out. It also includes dress rehearsals, workshops, meetings and educative program.
Four hospitals are on call for the control and quarantine in case of emergency. For the emergency situation, Tatmadaw has formed special medical forces, he added.
Till 22 March, there have been no confirmed cases in Myanmar yet. The government has banned mass gatherings, events and festivals and closed schools, Karaoke bars and bars until 30 April.
