The administration and security organizations have lost control of Chinshwehaw, Phaungsai and Kyu Kok in northern Shan State, said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun, spokesman for the State Administration Council (SAC).

Regarding the attack by armed groups on some areas in the townships in northern Shan State, the conflict between the Kokang tribal leaders and the current situation in the Kokang region was explained by the spokesman of the SAC with historical information.

Major General Zaw Min Tun said that at present, he saw the rumours that all the cities in northern Shan State have been controlled by the northern alliances.

"Here we see all kinds of propaganda. Almost all the cities in northern Shan State have been controlled by them. Then they said where their military operation will continue," said Major General Zaw Min Tun.

The Laukkai area was formerly stationed by Communist Party of Burma (CPB), Wa and Kokang forces. Later, they negotiated peace. After that, the Laukkai area was designated as Kokang Autonomous Region. About every five years in this area, conflicts occurred between the tribes, Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun said.

Major General Zaw Min Tun said that as Myanmar is a sovereign country, it will do its best to protect its territories.

"For us, Myanmar is a free and sovereign country. Since this is an independent and sovereign country, we will do our best to defend our independence and our sovereign territory," said Major General Zaw Min Tun.

On October 27, forces of MNDAA, TNLA and AA attacked Chinshwehaw, Monekoe, Kutkai, Hsenwi and Lashio, and took the employees and civilians from a hotel owned by a former Kokang leader in Chinshwehaw, Major General Zaw Min Tun said.

Major General Zaw Min Tun said, "That's when the Paungseik security post was attacked. Paungseik Bridge was destroyed by mines. On October 28, fighting continued in those areas. On October 29, small battles occurred in Hsenwi, Lashio, Naungcho, Namtu and Hopan. On October 30, clashes occurred in Namhkan, Monekoe, Kutkai, Lashio and Namtu. On October 31, there was some shooting in Lashio."

Major General Zaw Min Tun said that these groups are currently fighting in those areas giving the reason to suppress online gambling on the border between China and Myanmar.
