Talks and press releases from the Tatmadaw are representative of the state, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services during a meeting with Nikolay Listopadov, Ambassador of Russia Federation to Myanmar at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw on October 18, according to an announcement from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.

The Senior General recounted his visit to Russia in August this year as a successful trip. The Myanmar Tatmadaw gained much experience in taking part in the 2018 International Army Games. He expressed his thanks to Russia for understanding events that had transpired within recent years in Myanmar and his emphasis on relations of two countries as Russia is a good friend. With regard to Rakhine issue, the Senior General said the press releases and other informative events that originate from the Tatmadaw are the truth. As the Tatmadaw represents the state, its talks and press releases also represent the state.

He said that every armed force throughout the world is responsible for defending their country and people. The Myanmar Tatmadaw is also responsible for safeguarding and defending the state, its many ethnicities and is safeguarding them under the law in a just and fair manner. However, international community places blame on Myanmar for various reasons. The Tatmadaw is safeguarding peace and stability and rule of law for the state and preventing the acts harming the individual rights of each person prescribed in the constitution and national characters under the law.

According to the announcement, the reports related to Myanmar were based on facts only brought on by bias investigations. Myanmar will face those challenges in order to reach a proper solution to those problems in cooperation with allied countries. Concerning issues of peace, everyone around the world cannot survive and thrive without peace. Making problems harm peace. If a country is not peaceful, it will not be developed. The Tatmadaw is striving for achieving eternal peace. Building a standard army aims to become a Tatmadaw with capability of defending the state and a Tatmadaw on which the state can rely. As the country is on the path of democracy, the Tatmadaw must cooperate with the government elected by the people.

Then, they cordially discussed enhancement of friendly relations between the two armed forces of both countries, efforts for strategic cooperation, cooperation in technology, anti-terrorism, scholarship courses, and participation in the International Army Game.
