State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi is inspected voters list announced in Popa Thiri, Zeya Thiri, Zabu Thiri, Oakthara Thiri and Dakhina townships in Nay Pyi Taw council area in the morning of August 14.

The state counsellor urged people, who came to check the voters list at religious hall of Pyisan Aung ward in Zeya Thiri Township, to give vote in upcoming election whoever they want to give vote.

“They can give vote to whoever they want but they need to give vote. It is the duty of citizens and their chances to elect the government they want. People don’t have the chance to criticize the government if they don’t give vote in the election as they don’t fulfill the responsibility to give vote in upcoming election,” she said.

Moreover the government is drawing plans for the voters to give vote in line with health regulations and it may not be 100 per cent satisfying but the government is trying its best. Second voters list will be announced. People need to check the voters list and if it has errors, they need to correct them, she said.

“The state counsellor came to inspect the plans arranged for the upcoming election. She visited all five townships in Nay Pyi Taw council area,” said Thein Naing, chairman of Oakthara Thiri Township election sub-commission.

More than 844,000 eligible voters are listed in eight townships in Nay Pyi Taw council area and there are 633 polling stations in Nay Pyi Taw including polling stations outside the military bases.
