State Counsellor attends Myanmar-Japan Concert 2019 in Nay Pyi Taw

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended Myanmar-Japan Concert jointly organized by the Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra of the Myanma Radio and Television of the Ministry of Information and a band of Japanese musicians at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw on January 23. 

Also present at the concert were Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw Mahn Win Khaing Than and wife Daw Nant Kyin Kyi, Union ministers, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and their wives, Ambassador of the Japan to Myanmar and staff of the Japanese embassy, invited guests, departmental employees and their families, and music enthusiasts.

At the concert, Japanese Ambassador Mr. Ichiro Maruyama, presented documents related to 19 musical instruments donated by the Japanese government to U Myint Htwe, Director-General of the MRTV.

After opening the concert by playing the national anthems of Myanmar and Japan, conductor Mr. Yunosuke Yamamoto and the National Symphony Orchestra entertained the audience with music.

Afterwards, Mr. Sato, Chairman of the Japan Foundation (Yangon) introduced the Japanese traditional musical instruments before musicians from the Myanmar National Symphony Orchestra, Japanese musicians and artistes from the Gitameik played the traditional music of Myanmar and Japan.

After the entertainment, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi presented a bouquet of flowers to Mr. Yunosuke Yamamoto.

Next, Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw Mahn Win Khaing Than presented a bouquet of flowers to Pianist Ms Kyoko Koyama.

Following this, Union ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Deputy Minister for Information and the Japanese Ambassador presented bouquets of flowers to the Japanese traditional music troupe, the Symphony Orchestra of Japan, Gitameik choir troupe, Insein choir troupe, the National Symphony Orchestra of Myanmar and State Traditional Orchestra.

Later, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi posed for documentary photos together with the Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw, Union ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, deputy ministers, the Japanese Ambassador, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and musicians.
