SSPP/SSA delegation arrive in Nay Pyi Taw to discuss peace with SAC

A delegation led by the Vice President (1) of the Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP/SSA) arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on July 2 to meet and discuss peace with the Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services.

When asked about the news that the SSPP/SSA delegation has arrived in Nay Pyi Taw to discuss peace, Major General Zaw Min Tun, who is the spokesperson of the SAC, answered , "Yes, they have arrived. They will discuss tomorrow".

It is known that the Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP/SSA) peace delegation that arrived in Nay Pyi Taw for peace talks was led by Vice President (1) General Khur Tai and Vice President (2) Major General Khun Hseng, and included about 10 members.

SSPP spokesperson Major Phone Han told Shan Herald news agency that they are holding talks to resolve the issue through dialogue and negotiation to avoid hardship for the people due to the fighting.

The delegation led by General Khur Tai, Vice President (1) of the SSPP/SSA will meet and discuss with the State Administration Council’s Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing today.

After the meeting with the SAC’s Chairman, the SSPP delegation will meet with the peace negotiation team and the Coordination Committee for National Unity and Peacemaking formed by the State Administration Council.
