A house was set on fire in Mandalay on October 26 following a reported incident where a son assaulted his father over money.

U Mann Lwin, who lives on 17th Street, 86th Street, and 87th Street, in Pyigyi Yanlon Ward, Aungmyethazan Township, was told that his son Aung Myo Lwin asked him for 30 million kyats and got quarreled.

Then the son punched and beat him. As a result of the beatings, he received injuries on his little finger and complained to the ward administration office.

When complaining about that, he said that he ran away after locking the door of the compound. The son complained that the house was being set on fire with a gas canister, and was arrested and investigated at the relevant township police station.
